Don’t you just love airports? I realize this isn’t a sentiment that too many people share, even so it’s one of my favorite places in the world. Maybe it’s the photographer in me that like to see this place so filled with emotion. Families greeting their loved one’s not knowing if it’s the last time they will see each other, lovers reunited after long trips apart, business people traveling together with that light spread of awkwardness and uncertainty.

As a photographer you are exposed to many people that not many others are exposed to, this although an honor, can sometimes be a bit of a disappointment.  Let me explain what I mean. As the public, we often see celebrities, politicians and sports stars only by the way they want us to see them. Depending on how clever they are or in fact their media moguls that work with them they can portray just about anything they want and very often we as the public are none the wiser to what happens behind the scenes. As a photographer I am often behind the scenes and see the difference in who these people portray and who they in fact are. Its scary to know how many of those in the limelight when faced with reality behind the scenes are far more boorish and self-absorbed than what they show their fans, which in its own should be saluted as very clever from a self marketing perspective at least.
